The Seventh edition of the Pan-African Historical Theatre Festival (PANAFEST) and Emancipation Day Celebration will be held from July 27th, 2005 to August 2nd, 2005 at the traditional locations of Cape Coast and Elmina in Ghana, West Africa. The theme of this year's festival is the "Re-emergence of African Civilization - Preserving and Reuniting the African Family - Fight against HIV-AIDS"

PANAFEST is a cultural event dedicated to the enhancement of the ideals of Pan-Africanism and the development of the African continent. The festival seeks to affirm the common heritage of people of African descent through out the world, and defining Africa's contribution to world civilization. It also seeks to attract people of African descent as well as all persons committed to the well being of Africans on the continent and in the Diaspora to meet, interact and develop strategies to achieve the above goals.
